ok my hubby is diabetic and the doctor gave him a list of what he can and cant eat but i’d like to know like what can he eat in the mornings and lunch and dinner and between meals too
can some one give me some tips

I am a diabetic I control it with diet but the doctor says I have high cholesterol I have tried medicine but lots of side effects so i had to come off the meds, all he told me was no fried foods and eat high fiber diet any suggestions I am willing to try natural remedies I dont really want the side effects meds give me I am very sensitive to most drugs I dont have a good diet plan for fiber

I’m a type 2 diabetic, and my doctor has prescribed me a 1800 calorie diet (up to 2000 calories per day). I can have 7 to 8 servings (15 grams) of carbs. Does anyone have a suggested meal plan or other suggestions for this diet? Thanks!

I’m tired of seeing people with diet plans that are unreasonable and very low amounts of (mostly unhealthy) foods. I have worked all morning trying to put this together and if there is anything wrong with it I would love to know so I can look into it.
These are foods that would be eaten throughout the day in no particular order:
1 pkg oatmeal (flavored until I can find a good way to make from plain that tastes good)
1/4 cup Fiber One cereal (dry)
low-fat yogurt (6 oz container)
1/3 cup sunflower seeds (high in good fats / low in saturated fats)
1/2 tomato (raw)
1 cup celery (raw)
1 cup broccoli (raw)
3-4 baby carrots (raw)
1 cup cucumber slices (raw with peels)
1/2 green bell pepper (raw)
2 egg whites (hard boiled eggs / remove yolks)
1 cup of milk (non-fat)
1/2 cup low fat sour cream (used to make dip for veggies)
1 tbsp peanut butter (usually put on celery)
1 children’s chewable vitamin
Then one sensible small meal during the day.
Examples:
French toast w/ whole wheat bread (2 slices), no syrup
Tuna or other type of sandwich on whole wheat bread
Pasta (made with whole grain noodles) maybe 1 cup
Home made stew no potatoes about 1 cup
Lg salad (cheese, bacon, meat, veggies) with fat free dressing
I am a 32 year old female, I am 5’6″ and weigh almost 180 lbs. I am trying to loose weight and trying to get a better grasp on my health. I do no have any fruit and try to eliminate complex carbs because my body acts as if I’m diabetic if I eat these types of food.
I am also trying to add a minimum of 20 minutes (walking) on a treadmill everyday.
The list of foods come out to 1120 calories and 52 grams of fat and 131 grams of carbs.
adinasway, I agree with the oatmeal thing, but the rest of the information is not very good. I used a program and the first list of things are all within the range for needed vitamins and such each day. The amount of protein is actually at the upper end of my requirements. As far as carbs on the items for my meals they are whole wheat and the body needs good carbs (in moderation) everyday or else there are negative consequences in the long run. I did forget to mention that the yogurt is sugar free.

Can anyone tell me how I can fix my meal plan. I just signed up like 20mins ago for the ediets.com menu plan and they put me on a diabetic plan and I’m not a diabetic. I would contact ediets but they service help line is closed until 8am tomorrow. So, basicly I was just wondering if anyone actually knew how to change my diet plan without ediets assistance. Any advice on how to fix my diet plan will be helpful! Thanks.

I’m fifteen years & nine months old, 5’1 and about 110-115 lbs (depending on the time of day). I usually exercise daily in the form of DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) doing fast paced steps, 30 minutes total body express DVD, or both. The problem is I have bad eating habits. I’ll eat a good breakfast, but I’ll skip lunch, eat dinner, and snack until I go to bed.
I want to know if anybody would know of an ideal dieting plan for me? I see a lot of diets out there, but they’re all targeted around adults.. and I’m only fifteen. I don’t like eating school lunches because I believe they’re fattening, so I usually skip lunch.
If you have any idea, I would greatly appreciate it.
I’m not allergic to any foods that I’m aware of, I’m not diabetic and do not have any other health problems. Blood pressure’s normal and all.. well, actually, it’s usually kinda low.
I want to shed a few lbs and just exercising isn’t working.
Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks !

I have been diagnosed with Hypothyroidism over a year ago and further diagnosed with Hashimoto’s just a couple months ago… I have worked very hard on having a balanced diet and eating a lower calorie diet (varying between 1000 & 1300), yet my weight continued to climb… I have ended up gaining 25 pounds in just one year, partly due to stress I believe. I have even tried increasing the amount of aerobic and strength training I do in a day… well, as a result, I have gained 5 more pounds and now I’m up 30 pounds! Has anyone had success with meal plans actually working? Lean Cuisine, Smart Ones, Weight Watchers, Slim Fast, Jenny Craig, NutriSystem, etc?

Additional Details
Hashimoto’s isn’t a diabetic condition.
I am currently under the care of an endocrinologist and on hormone replacement (Synthroid). I feel the healthiest I have been in quite a while! minus the weight problem…

I would like to tone up. I’m not fat, but I’m not confident in how I look either. I am 5’9 and around 155 pounds. I have big hips and a very small waist. My two key points that I would like to tone up is my stomach area and my thighs. I am a diabetic and from my sites (needle to my insulin pump) it has caused some tissue to build up on my stomach, around my belly button. Is there a way to get rid of that? I really need some help, I want to be able to feel beautiful and confident in myself. Also, I have a Wii Fit and an Ab Circle Pro so if yall have any plans, meal plans, or diet plans, that would be great. Also if yall might want to include what I already have, it would be appreciated. So please help? :]

Hi my name is Olive. I am a Diabetic and I am a teenager. My Dr. said that going on a diet would help my Blood sugar alot! So he told me to find a diet that works and that is not total surrounded in just sugar free stuff. The chemiclas in the sugar free stuff is bad for you is what he told me. Oh and I love chocolate. I also need some support so I could give you my e-mail and start a support team or something like that. I am 30 pounds over weight.
